Property and Boundary Etiquette When Kayak Fishing
Posted on September 8, 2011
Any time that you go kayak fishing, you need to maintain property and boundary etiquette. In order to do this, you need to respect other people who are out on the water. If you have etiquette while fishing, the experience will be more enjoyable. Not only that, but you will be less likely to cause a fight.
The need for proper etiquette starts on the launching ramp. Make sure to wait for your turn. Have your equipment ready beforehand. This way, you can quickly unload your kayak and equipment.Didn-t catch that? This explains it. Once you have unloaded your gear, secure your kayak and park your vehicle. After that, get in your kayak and leave the ramp. It is not a social area. You should already have a system in place so you can get done fast.
When on the water, you need to maintain certain boundaries. Keep out of reach of another person-s casting distance. You should give others plenty of room. If someone is in your favorite spot, ask them if they would mind sharing. If they don-t want to share, find a different area. Not only that, but make sure that you don-t cut in front of others who are trying to fish.
